A day with cousins

A week ago Noah got to visit with some of his 2nd cousins. We stopped over to drop off some clothes that no longer fit Noah (major recent growth spurt!) and Noah got to play with Sam and Ben who live in the next little city over from us. Bonus was that another cousin from down in Rochester was visiting also with their Grandma Bonnie who was in town. 4 little boys on a nice afternoon! Let the playtime begin!!

After a while of play in the yard it was time to move over to Grandma Mary's where Noah was going to spend the night with Bonnie and Breckyn. They hadn't seen each other in about a year but Noah and Breckyn got along really well. We all went to eat and then they got more play time while Mary and Bonnie got to visit and catch up.

The next morning was meeting. The boys looked tired, but happy to be together.

Nice to catch up with some extended family time!!

Hot June Day

After a stormy night we had plans the next day to go to the Beach with Sam and Renee. Woke up in the morning and it was still grey and wet looking so we switched gears to go to Sky Zone instead. It is an indoor trampoline park. The boys jumped for 2 solid hours along with dodgeball games and some cold slushies for breaks. A good way to burn off some kid energy!

We had a late lunch and the boys still wanted more play time, so they came back to my house for the afternoon to play. Two creative minds came up with a "plan B" since we didn't get a little pool this year. ;). Individual pools!! It cracked me up when I looked out the window. Love how kid minds work!!

Willow River State Park, WI- 6/10/12

On a warm weekend we decided to go check out Willow River State Park. We heard they had a nice waterfall and hiking. Unfortunately when we drove through to get our sticker we didn't get a map so ended up on the wrong end of the park. We still made the best of it and had a fun day. We hiked and Noah swam a little at the beach and the boys walked around in the river while I soaked up the sun with my feet in the cool water. Noah played at the playground a bit too (until he got too dizzy on the spinny tire swing). Next time we'll try the other path to the real waterfalls.

Last day of 4th grade. 6/7/12

Only got one shot of last day of school year. We had road construction and challenges to even get the bus in here that last week but everyone got on the last morning and all the kids had come down to our stop. After school I picked Noah up at school to bring a little teacher gift and say our farewells. One more year at this school. Finally will be the oldest grade at the school!   On to summer!!

Spring Concert 5/30/12

Noah's school put on a 4th and 5th grade concert. The new music teacher has had lots of fun activities this year and this concert highlighted them. Noah got to play a song on the recorder too. We are glad the music teacher will be returning next year for more fun.

21st Anniversary!

5/18/12 was our 21st wedding anniversary. Time flies when you are having fun! This was a lower key year for plans but we still had fun. Our family tradition is Family Day. We swap presents and make a party day out of it. Being it was a Friday Brent and I had to work all day, but had plans for dinner afterwards to meet Noah and the two grandmas. We ate at Red Lobster for a casual yummy dinner. Noah brought his card and homemade presents of mom and dad bookmarks as well as some colored artwork for our cube walls. After dinner we went back to the house for an ADORABLE mini cake that Mary had made at Byerly's (they do a great job) and gifts. Brent and I had already exchanged our gifts that we each helped pick out for ourselves (not romantic, but we get what we have wanted. :). Noah always comes out good in the deals too.

Anyway, a fun party night and new memories made!

May 12, 2012 a fun spring day!

we had a huge fun day of outdoor activity! Started the morning with a school event that was a fundraiser/book swap/group 1 mile walk-run. It was an annual event put on by the school. Grandma Rosie is a local volunteer that reads with the kindergartners every year so all at the school have sort of grown up with her. Noah got to see school friends and fave teachers.

Later in the day we stumbled across a great free event at the local Nature Center. What a perfect weather day for all the activity! It had a rock climbing wall, basketball tug of war, a bounce house, tandem bikes (yes Noah talked me into riding), then also had fitness challenges along the walking paths. You got a parks and rec water bottle for doing the challenges. Snacks and water were provided too. Noah got his pic taken by the reporter of the local paper. She asked permission to publish. He was on their website, their FB page and also got on front page of local paper. What fun memories!!!
